An introduction

There are exciting new developments happening in your local civic space.

Waltham Forest Council and Countryside want to work with local people to transform the area around the Town Hall into a new neighbourhood celebrating culture and heritage, creating new affordable homes as well as exceptional green spaces for everyone to enjoy.

Between now and the winter, we want to hear what you want from your new civic space. Now, more than ever we appreciate the importance of our outdoor spaces and your priorities and ideas can help shape the future of Fellowship Square.

The area around Waltham Forest Town Hall will now be called 'Fellowship Square'. Following a series of workshops with the local community and Council staff, we believe that the name Fellowship Square responds to the feedback we received, respects the history and heritage of the Town Hall and captures the spirit and essence of what people want this place to become.

The Team

Countryside and the design team were awarded the winning bid with an initial masterplan design proposal which was based on the Council approved RIBA Stage 2 masterplan.

The design team, working with Countryside properties are made up of a varied selection of specialists in their fields, these include four architectural practices, sustainability, engineering and transport experts, planners, an affordable housing partner and placemaking and engagement specialists.

Indicative project timeline

Over the coming months, we want to speak to as many people as possible, offering different opportunities to get involved, share your priorities and test your ideas. Your feedback will help us shape this new neighbourhood.

Tell us how you are using the local area at the moment and what opportunities you would like to see in your new civic space here
